I had always seen this anon’s profile picture but never really knew what it was exactly. We had followed each other for awhile before I finally got curious about the shapes, and clicked on this anon’s avi to see what it actually was. It was small, but I looked close. I was blown away.
It was an artist’s rendition of the battle you and I fight every single day. The Great Awakening is summed up perfectly in this one simple image, yet it proves to be a thought-provoking piece of art. It became my favorite patriotic picture that day, and no other image has ever topped it. That’s saying A LOT for someone like me, who dwells daily in Patriotic imagery.
So what would be better than to use that picture for our book’s cover, right?!
But first, I had to find where it came from to ask permission. It didn’t take long for me to track down the artist. My shock was the identity of this artist. It’s an artist we all know and love.
So I’m thinking to myself “Oh, Lord - what’s this going to cost me?” kek
I found his website and contacted him for permission and pricing of the large printable file. I explained it was for the book’s cover and gave him the link for AmericanHistoryMakers.com so that he could further investigate our book project before making his decision.
In true professional form, he got back to me within 24 hours to congratulate me on the book and grant his permission for us to use his picture for our cover art!!
But wait!! There’s more!!
This amazing artist sent me the large file size I needed for printing for free!! Is that not the best donation anyone could ask for?!
I was over the moon for about 48 hours!
By now you’re probably wondering “What pic? Where the hell is it?”
But that would spoil the surprise, so I’m not going to show it to you just yet. In fact, I gave enough clues above, that I’m curious if anyone will deduce the picture or the artist. But in due time, my subscribers will be the first people to see it, so stay tuned…
Now… I need your opinion
For the sake of not being too cruel by making you figure out what pic I used for the front cover, (hahahaha) I’ll go ahead and show you the current state of the back of the book that has not gone to editing yet.
This way, everyone can weigh in on whether or not they like this for the back cover, or if I should change any of the wording.
If you are a subscriber, leave your comments and I promise to consider any constructive criticism you have for me!
This is OUR HISTORY book, so in the end, I want to make sure you are all proud of what we put together.
Lastly, with the final edits coming up as we enter the holidays and family visits, I’ll skip our monthly newsletter update for December. I’m praying that by January 2024, we’ll be ready to start pre-orders. As a subscriber, you’ll be the first to know.
Meanwhile, after final edits are done this month, I’ll be preparing to take our book to print, revamping this Substack space, as well as building a new website for American History Makers. So I have much work to do before we launch the book by the one-year delta of starting this crazy project!!
After all… it’s one thing to write a book… but it’s a whole ‘notha thing to sell a book!
Thanks to all of my subscribers for coming along with me on this historical ride in creating this unique book throughout 2023. Until we meet again in 2024, have yourself a very Merry Christmas and a WINNING New Year!!
I’ll pop in and see you as often as I can on Truth Social and X-Twitter over the holidays!

I always seem to come in on 17 comments...I hate to break that number to 18. This may be a day late and a dollar short, but I agree with Kim..."Collection of Recollections" I think is better than singular. Don't worry about the rhyme being exact if it rolls off the tongue. And, check the defs.
1
a: tranquility of mind
b: religious contemplation
2
a: the action or power of recalling to mind
b: something recalled to the mind
First thought - I like it!
After reading comments, I agree with the need to define "The Great Awakening" so as to not confuse it with the previous ones.
I too vote for "collection of testimonies." Collection of recollection does have a nice creative and poetic ring to it, in and of itself, but it seems out of place in context of what else is written.
Can't wait to see the cover art! (If the person is a professional artist, I have a guess who it might be; otherwise, not a clue.)
